The Relationship Between Enterprise Architecture Artifacts
نویسنده
چکیده
Enterprise architecture (EA) is a description of an organization from the integrated business and IT perspective intended to facilitate information systems planning. Popular EA frameworks 1, 2 , books 3, 4 and even academic articles 5 suggest that EA provides comprehensive descriptions of the current and future states of an organization as well as a transition roadmap between them. Essentially, the mainstream EA literature typically describes EA as a thick “book” full of various diagrams with four distinct “chapters”: business architecture, data architecture, application architecture and technology architecture. A relatively well-known EA guru Jaap Schekkerman even argues that EA is a “complete expression of the enterprise” 6

An Artifact Model for Projects Conforming to Enterprise Architecture
This article presents a model for projects that have to adhere to Enterprise Architecture (EA) in order for their results to be aligned with the broader organization. The model features project artifacts (i.e. deliverables such as Software Architecture Documents), their mutual relationships, their relationship with EA, and the processes in which they are created and tested on conformance. We st...

متن کاملAn Approach for Creating and Managing Enterprise Blueprints: A Case for IT Blueprints
One important role of Enterprise Architecture aims at modeling enterprise artifacts and their relationships, ranging from the high-level concepts to physical ones such as communication networks and enterprise premises. As it is well known, these artifacts evolve over time, as well as their relationships. The dynamic nature of such artifacts has been a difficulty not only in modeling but also in...
متن کاملEnterprise Architecture Artifacts As Boundary Objects - A Framework Of Properties
This paper uses the concept of boundary objects to derive hypotheses for the design of Enterprise Architecture (EA) artifacts, with the goal of supporting communication and coordination in enterprise transformation projects. Boundary objects are a useful concept to understand the coordinative role of artifacts in practice. Since enterprise transformation projects typically involve multiple comm...
